Meet Our Leadership

​

-Dr. Grace Horner, CCPT is the Co-Founder, President, and Lead Counselor of Covenant Healing, LLC. 

 

Dr. Grace is a Certified Clinical Pastoral Therapist with a specialty in Marriage & Family Therapy.  Her background consists of experience in Healthcare Administration and Diagnostic Medical Sonography with high risk obstetrics.  Similarly, she has experience in providing other family-related Resource Services to the U.S. Military community around Houston, Texas. 

 

Dr. Grace's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Counseling, a Doctor of Divinity (honoris causa), and a Doctor of Sacred Music (honoris causa) from Atlantic Coast Bible College and Theological Seminary, a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy with a concentration in Treatment of Trauma and Military Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration from Columbia Southern University, and a Certification in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound from Sanford Brown Institute. 

 

Dr. Grace is certified through the American Association of Christian Counselors - Biblical Counseling & Spiritual Formation and maintains active memberships with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, Christian Bible Counselors Association, National Certified Chaplains Association, and the Christian Counselors of Texas, Houston Chapter. Dr. Grace is also a U.S. Navy Veteran, most notably having served during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001, served 8 years in the United States Navy, and also worked as an appointed Navy Ombudsman/Military Family Liaison for 3 years at Ellington Field, Houston, Texas.  

 

-Rev. Dr. Timothy Horner, CpastC is the Co-Founder, Vice President, Chaplain, and Certified Pastoral Counselor of Covenant Healing, LLC.

 

Dr. Tim's background is in Pastoral Care and Counseling services and has a prior background in the emergency services fields of Firefighting, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Occupational Safety & Health, and Emergency Management.  He is also employed as an Part-Time Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Arkansas-Grantham teaching a variety of courses in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, and Emergency Management & Planning. 

 

Dr. Tim's educational background consists of a Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Counseling, a Doctor of Divinity (honoris causa), a Doctor of Sacred Music (honoris causa) from Atlantic Coast Bible College and Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts in Christian Studies with an emphasis in Pastoral Counseling from Crown College, a Master of Science in Emergency Services Management, a Graduate Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health, and a Bachelor of Science in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University. 

 

Dr. Tim is certified through the American Association of Christian Therapists as a Pastoral Counselor and maintains active memberships with the American Association of Christian Counselors, the Christian Bible Counselors Association, National Certified Chaplains Association, American Association of Pastoral Counselors, Christian Counselors of Texas, Houston Chapter, and the American Association of University Professors among many other professional and Association Memberships.  He is also a U.S. Navy Veteran of 16 years total service most notably having served in Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001 and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.  Dr. Tim is an ordained Christian Minister and a certified, licensed Chaplain.

 

Drs. Grace and Tim have six children, two of whom are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Thus, we understand the struggles, challenges, and rewards that special needs parents, military, and caretakers face daily.
